ANACONDA, Mont. (AP) - An Anaconda man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with 10 years suspended for the shooting death of a 45-year-old man in his home.

The Montana Standard reports (https://bit.ly/1emtowe ) that Dylan Clark Jess pleaded guilty in October to felony negligent homicide with a weapons enhancement for the 2013 shotgun killing of Robert “Bob” Furman of Anaconda.

A mandatory two-year sentence for use of a dangerous weapon would run consecutively to the negligent homicide sentence. Jess will receive credit for 271 days for time served.

Police say Jess, then 21, called 911 in November 2013 to report he had shot Furman in the head. The two men had been at a party in Opportunity. Once at Furman’s home, Jess and Furman grappled over the shotgun when the gun discharged.
