HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police say a man has been shot to death during an attempted robbery at a house as several other relatives played dominoes.

Police on Wednesday searched for an armed suspect who fled after apparently not stealing anything.

Authorities say 43-year-old Juan Jaimes-Martinez was fatally shot Tuesday night when he was confronted while outside to smoke a cigarette. Police say a suspect approached and tried to rob the victim, who was shot in the head and died at the scene.

Police say the suspect then went into the house and tried to rob several other people.

Additional shots were fired but nobody was hurt.
