BAGGS, Wyo. (AP) - Spring black bear hunting has closed in Wyoming.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says bear hunting closed one-half hour after sunset on Monday. Registered baits need to be removed by June 22.

The agency reminds hunters that regulations prohibit burying bait.

Wyoming allows spring and fall hunting for black bears in 34 hunt areas. Black bear hunting seasons close when the female mortality quota is reached in the hunt area, or on the closing day, whichever comes first.

Fall archery season for black bear will reopen Sept. 1, 2015 in most hunt areas.
