FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man drowned in the pool at the Pierview Hotel and Suites on Fort Myers Beach.

The News-Press of Fort Myers (https://newspr.es/1fg2W7z) reports the body was found shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday.

A hotel spokesman also confirmed the person who was found dead in the pool was not a guest.

The Lee County Medical Examiner removed the body shortly after 10:30 a.m. The sheriff’s office is not calling the death suspicious at this time.

Hotel management also kept the pool closed and posted signs shortly after the body was removed apologizing to guests for the closure and explaining maintenance was needed before it could be reopened.

The victim’s identity hasn’t been released.
