DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - A Houston County jury has found a former Dothan attorney not guilty of felony theft.

The Dothan Eagle (https://bit.ly/1GN6rwH ) reports 57-year-old Deborah Seagle Jordan received the verdict Tuesday afternoon. Jordan was arrested in 2012 after police say she had taken $25,000 owed to one of her clients when she was a practicing attorney.

Jordan’s attorney, Christopher Williams, argued that Jordan had not stolen any money from her client, but that there were bookkeeping issues at her law practice.

Jordan has practiced law in Alabama for more than 25 years, and was formerly married to former Dothan City Commissioner Keith Seagle. Williams says he thinks she will enjoy the victory and spending time with her family.
