ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - The jury is deliberating in the trial of a man prosecutors say shot and killed 27-year-old Said Beshirov outside a now-defunct Anchorage nightclub.

The Alaska Dispatch News reports (https://bit.ly/1IOIpB1) attorneys for both sides gave closing arguments in a trial that began in late May, almost three years after the shooting outside Platinum Jaxx on Halloween weekend 2012.

Jurors began deliberating Tuesday afternoon.

Police never found the murder weapon. Nowhere in video shown during the trial is 28-year-old Korakanh Phornsavanh seen shooting the victim.

Prosecutors say video does show the defendant focused on Beshirov in the moments before shots were fired.

The defense argued witnesses did not point to Phornsavanh as the shooter, but prosecutors said memories were distorted by alcohol and adrenaline.
