WASHINGTON, Maine (AP) - A Knox County couple has been arrested and charged with running a methamphetamine manufacturing operation in the basement of a home.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says 25-year-old Dustin Carpenter and 27-year-old Gina Glidden were arrested Tuesday following a search of the home in the town of Washington. The home belongs to Glidden’s grandmother and the couple was living in the basement. Carpenter recently moved there from Alabama.

The search uncovered evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing including pseudoephedrine, lithium, processing vessels and a small amount of meth. No active labs were present.

Carpenter was charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine and held on $10,000.

Glidden was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and violation of conditional release. Glidden, who was out on bail for a pending heroin possession charge, was denied bail.
