KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - A 48-year-old man has been charged with criminal property damage after he was accused of smashing a dozen television sets at a store in Kailua-Kona.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/1emOESG) that officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a big box store Monday around 6:49 p.m.

Witnesses report seeing the suspect grab a bat from the store and using it to destroy 12 televisions. One of the store’s customers stopped him and took him outside to wait for police. Damages were estimated a $4,081.

Police arrested the man and charged him with second-degree criminal property damage, a felony. His bail was set at $2,000.
