DEER LODGE, Mont. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man whose body was found in a vehicle destroyed by fire at a campground in northern Powell County.

Sheriff Scott Howard tells the Montana Standard (https://bit.ly/1J48SgD) the man was 36-year-old Colin Patrick McKnight, a counselor in Missoula.

The cause of death and the fire are unknown at this time, but no foul play is suspected.

McKnight’s body was found Thursday at the Harry Morgan Campground, a Forest Service fishing access on the Blackfoot River. An area resident reported what appeared to be a bonfire and the sounds of fireworks at the campground.

The Ovando fire department responded. When Howard and Powell County Coroner Lee Jewell arrived, they found a burned car with the remains of a man lying in it; he had apparently been sleeping.
