MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Cobb County prosecutors say a man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in an armed robbery.

District Attorney’s spokeswoman Kim Isaza says 20-year-old Hermes Aburto was sentenced Tuesday morning after pleading guilty in the Sept. 22 attack.

Prosecutors say Aburto followed a woman out of a gas station and opened her car door after she sat down to try taking her purse.

Authorities say the woman chased Aburto and he fired a shot at her but missed.

The robbery was recorded on the gas station’s surveillance system and Aburto was arrested after police dogs tracked him to his home.

Aburto is ordered to spend 15 years in custody and the rest of his sentence on probation
