LANCASTER, N.H. (AP) - A 19-year-old New Hampshire man has been sentenced to five months in jail after leading Fish and Game conservation officers on a snowmobile chase in the northern part of the state in March.

Officer said they attempted to stop the snowmobile in Groveton for loud exhaust. The operator, later identified as Patrick Guay of Groveton, didn’t stop and increased his speed. Officers said he left the trail and got onto a public road, where he was trying to outrun an officer.

Eventually, his snowmobile collided with an officer’s snowmobile, and Guay fled.

Guay was found in the woods and arrested.

He also was fined over $3,000 and had to forfeit his snowmobile.
