MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - Meridian police have arrested the mother of a child who died in a suspected drowning incident at Western Gardens in May.

WTOK-TV (https://bit.ly/1JX2GFM ) reports Keanna Denise King was charged with capital murder in the death of her four-year-old son Tuesday evening. Authorities say King confessed to the crime to detectives. King is also being charged with child abuse. Police say they made the arrest with help from information given to them by the public.

The child’s name has not been released.

King is currently in the Lauderdale County Jail with no bond. Her case will go before the next available grand jury. It is unclear if she has a lawyer.
