LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has added sworn law enforcement officers to her office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Rutledge’s office announced the addition of the officers Friday, adding that they had already made several arrests this month, including two people in Pine Bluff on June 5 and one person in Little Rock on June 18. She did not say how many officers were hired.

All of the arrests were made on suspicion of varying degrees of Medicaid fraud, and it was unclear Friday whether the individuals had been officially charged.

Rutledge says the officers will help work Medicaid fraud cases and also investigate and prosecute nursing home abuse.
