GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) - Milwaukee Tool has announced the expansion of its Greenwood operation with the creation of 126 new jobs, of which 105 have been filled.

The announcement came Friday in Greenwood by company officials and Gov. Phil Bryant.

The project represents a corporate investment of $16.8 million. It brings the total number people employed by the company in Greenwood to 508.

The Brookfield, Wisconsin-based company now has a total of 891 workers in Greenwood, Jackson and Olive Branch.

The state provided a $2.5 million for infrastructure improvements at the new facility plus $500,000 for renovations at its current site. The $2.5 million is renovation of the first 100,000 square feet of the new facility, leaving 100,000 square feet available for future expansions.

The building was formerly occupied by Friction Holdings, a brake manufacturer.
