KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - Glacier National Park officials have opened the entire length of the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road to vehicles.

The Flathead Beacon reports (https://goo.gl/gibc4a ) the opening of entire road Friday came just over a week after the park allowed vehicle traffic from West Glacier to Logan Pass. The annual date that the entire 52-mile route opens varies, and this year’s opening comes two weeks earlier than last year.

Park officials say the last day to drive the entire road will be Sept. 20, when the east section will be closed for road rehabilitation. Park officials expect the west section of the road will stay open to Logan Pass at least until the third week of October.
