PROVO, Utah (AP) - Utah County authorities say two people were pulled from the waters of Utah Lake Monday night after their boat capsized.

Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon says the two people were on a sailboat around 8 p.m. when high winds stirred up the lake’s waters and overturned the boat.

Cannon says people on shore saw the boat overturn and rescue officers were able to retrieve the pair from the water within 20 minutes.

He says the two adults were not injured. He did not have details on their identities but said both wore life jackets.

Cannon says winds in the area were about 20 to 30 miles per hour, which swelled waves on the shallow lake about three to five feet high.
