COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - John Suthers is taking over as mayor of Colorado Springs.

The former state attorney general was sworn into office Tuesday morning outside the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.

Suthers beat former Colorado Springs Mayor Mary Lou Makepeace in a runoff election last month, winning about 68 percent of the vote.

He replaces Mayor Steve Bach, who didn’t seek re-election after serving one four-year term.
