FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Hikers will have plenty of options in Kentucky on National Trails Day on Saturday.

The Kentucky Department of Parks says parks across the state are taking part with different activities. There will be hiking by lantern light at John James Audubon State Park in Henderson, a hydro-hike and a guided walk to see bison at Big Bone Lick State Historic Site in Union and a history hike and scavenger hunt at Columbus-Belmont State Park in Columbus. Events are also planned at other parks, including Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park and Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.

State parks have more than 300 miles of hiking trails.
