LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - A Casper man charged in the death of a University of Wyoming student from Lander has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

The Laramie Boomerang reports (https://goo.gl/dqZ6Sl ) 21-year-old Dalton Dale Williams entered his plea in district court on Tuesday. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop a second-degree murder charge and recommend a maximum sentence of three to five years of incarceration and boot camp.

Police say Williams fatally injured 21-year-old Joseph McGowan during a fight at an off-campus Halloween party last year.

Manslaughter carries a punishment of up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
