MARION, Ohio (AP) - Fire officials say a bomb squad was investigating after crews found an undetonated hand grenade in a north-central Ohio house where a man died in an early morning fire.

Fire investigators say the blaze broke out around 1:15 Tuesday morning in Marion, about 50 miles north of Columbus. Marion Assistant Fire Chief Chuck Deem says a 34-year-old man died in the fire. His name wasn’t immediately released.

Deem says a woman in her 70s escaped through a first-floor window. He says she suffered significant burns and cuts and was taken to a Columbus hospital.

WBNS-TV (https://bit.ly/1I4IRxd ) reports the woman was the grandmother of the 34-year-old man.

Deem says neighbors in surrounding homes were evacuated before the bomb squad entered the house.
