BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - A new trial date has been set in the arson trial of 26-year-old woman accused of setting a fire that destroyed a 20-unit apartment building at Arbor View in D’Iberville.

Krystal Gonzalez was set for trial June 15 in Harrison County Circuit Court in Biloxi. Her attorney, Michael Crosby, said he asked for a delay Monday, citing the need for further investigation.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1Q2oNjw) the new trial date is Sept. 28. Circuit Judge Chris Schmidt will preside over the trial.

The fire on Mardi Gras night last year displaced 40 residents. It was D’Iberville’s largest fire in more than 20 years.

Gonzalez lived at the apartment complex with her boyfriend. Officials have said the fire started in their apartment.

Gonzalez is free on a $200,000 bond.
