VOORHEESVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Officials are set to reveal their plans for John Boyd Thacher State Park near Albany.

State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey will hold a news conference Tuesday at Thacher Park, which sits on the Helderberg Escarpment 10 miles west of Albany. The park offers panoramic views of the Hudson Valley, Green Mountains and the foothills of the Adirondacks.

The state Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation in 2013 announced proposals for the park that included an adventure course and opening sections of the park along the escarpment to cliff climbing.

The park has 25 miles of trails.
