SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia’s annual free fishing weekend is set for June 13-14.

Division of Natural Resources director Bob Fala says that during those two days, residents and nonresidents can fish in West Virginia without a license.

It’s one of several events the division participates in during National Fishing and Boating Week. One of the largest is the Bowden Fishing Derby set for June 13 at the Bowden Hatchery in Randolph County. Another event the same day will offer fishing instruction for children at Little Beaver State Park near Beckley.
