BANGOR, Maine (AP) - Police say a woman has been arrested in two stabbings at the Bangor Mall that appear to be random.

Two women were stabbed in their shoulders in separate incidents on Tuesday morning.

Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say the victims did not know the suspect.

Police arrested 34-year-old Elizabeth Ellis in the afternoon. She’s facing two counts of aggravated assault. She was being held at the Penobscot County Jail and it was not immediately known if she was being represented by an attorney.

Anyone who was at the mall between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and may have witnessed anything related to this case is asked to call the Bangor Police Department at 207-947-7384.
