PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities have arrested three people suspected of operating a criminal ring to steal trucks and trailers.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says its vehicle theft task force served three search warrants Friday and seized nine stolen, retagged dump trailers along with two trucks and two plaster pumps.

They arrested three people, including 43-year-old Edward Baca.

Baca is being charged with nine counts each of theft of means of transportation and trafficking in stolen property. He also faces three counts each of forgery, fraudulent schemes and one count of operating a crimintal syndicate.

DPS estimates the stolen vehicles and equipment are worth $240,000.

Authorities have been investigating the case since March when detectives recovered a fraudulently registered dump trailer.

DPS did not identify the other two suspects.
