KOCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 6-year-old boy has drowned in a pond at a Saginaw County park.

The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/1MVl29x ) that Jayden Humes was pronounced dead Friday evening at a hospital after being pulled from the pond at Krossroads Park in Kochville Township.

Jayden had been at the park with relatives when he went missing. His father called 911, police responded and a witness spotted what turned out to be the Saginaw boy in the park’s east pond.

The park is closed as sheriff’s officials investigate.
