OLD TOWN, Maine (AP) - A former Old Town police officer is under investigation.

Sergeant Michael Hashey resigned in April after 23 years on the force.

Old Town Police Chief Scott Wilcox says Hashey is being investigated for allegedly taking items from the Old Town Police Department evidence room.

WLBZ reports (https://on.wlbz2.com/1L9CHfn) that the Waldo County district attorney’s office is handling the investigation.

Hashey could not be reached for comment. There was no phone listing in his name. It was not immediately clear if he is being represented by an attorney.
