COON RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) - Investigators are trying to identify a body found near a creek in Coon Rapids.

Commander Paul Sommer of the Anoka County sheriff’s office says someone doing lawn maintenance Friday spotted a man’s body in the mud near the creek.

Sommer says it appears the body had been there for some time. He says it wasn’t immediately clear if the death was criminal, accidental or natural.

An autopsy is planned.
