DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Police say more than $10,000 in computer tablets have been stolen from a Des Moines middle school.

The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/1IqzmmQ ) that 17 iPads were discovered missing Tuesday from an unlocked cart in a Harding Middle School classroom.

The theft was discovered when a janitor found a broken iPad near the main entrance of the school. Another broken iPad was found in a school parking lot, and a broken laptop was found nearby. An inventory showed the iPads had been taken.

Officials believe the suspects are three young teenage boys, based on school surveillance video.
