WASHINGTON (AP) - Police say they’re investigating a homicide near the U.S. Naval Observatory in northwest Washington.

Police say they were called Friday evening to the 3600 block of Calvert Street NW for a report of an unconscious person. Police say when they arrived at the location they found 53-year-old Joel Johnson suffering from “visible injuries.” Police did not say how Johnson was hurt, but they say he died of his injuries.

Police say there is no suspect or motive for the stabbing at this time and that Johnson did not have a permanent address.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call them.
