MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - More than 40 solar projects around Vermont are open for public tours during the summer solstice.

The first annual statewide “Celebrate Solar!” event takes place on Saturday.

Organizers say the tours will give Vermonters a chance to get a close-up look at solar systems to learn about the technology.

Some of the solar sites that will be open for tours are Cold Hollow Cider in Waterbury, Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks in Montpelier, Small Dog Electronics in Waitsfield and Champlain Orchards in Shoreham.

Organizers say many sites will be offering refreshments, music and other entertainment.
