WASHINGTON (AP) - Virginia Railway Express is running a special train service on the Fourth of July to help people get to Washington to see the fireworks.

VRE says the trains running July Fourth will drop off passengers at Union Station between 5:20 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. That gives riders plenty of time to get to the National Mall before the fireworks begin just after 9 p.m. VRE says it will be running the special service on both its Manassas Line and Fredericksburg Line, but the trains will not make all the usual stops.

Tickets for the special trains are $10 per person roundtrip from any station. Tickets can be purchased online at: https://www.vrespecialevents.org/firecracker-trains.htm
