CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say two people have been seriously injured following a house fire in Cedar Rapids.

The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says fire crews responded to the house Saturday night and found heavy smoke coming from the second floor. Two people with injuries were spotted in the front yard.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire on the second floor. There were no additional people in the house.

The two people were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Their names have not been released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
