PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Parkersburg’s new mayor is returning to a job that he held a decade ago.

City Council appointed former Mayor Jimmie Colombo last week to fill the unexpired term of Robert Newell. Newell retired ahead of a hearing on petitions to remove him from office.

Colombo served as mayor from 1998 to 2005. He tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1GfvtAZ ) that he has no intention of running for a full term.

But Colombo also doesn’t see himself as a lame duck.

He says regaining public trust will be important.
