WALLED LAKE, Mich. (AP) - An Oakland County auto repair shop plans to give a refurbished 2002 Toyota Highlander to a family in need of transportation.

Kenny’s Lakes Area Auto Experts in Walled Lake is asking people and families to share stories about how the recipient will use the vehicle.

Nominations are being accepted through July 3. Kenny’s Lakes Area Auto Experts staff will select the winning family.

Owner Kenny Walters says “having a car could mean the world to a family” and “could allow a parent to get a job because they will now have a vehicle to get there.”

The Toyota Highlander will receive new brakes, suspension, drive shaft, belts, hoses, tires and other work.
