BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - Brookhaven tourism officials are looking for a branding and marketing slogan to bring in visitors.

The Tourism Promotional Council wants to roll out the campaign on Aug. 1.

The Daily Leader reports (https://bit.ly/1K1KdIf ) the council expects to spend $75,000 to $100,000, including fees to the marketing company Raborn Media of Jackson.

Tyler Raborn, with Raborn Media, says the agency is creating a logo and slogan to be used across all marketing platforms including a new website, Twitter account and Facebook page.

Raborn says the plan is to build on the image Brookhaven has historically had.

Funding is coming from a new local lodging tax approved by voters in 2014.

The 2 percent tax is levied on overnight stays at hotels or bed-and-breakfast inns with six or more rooms.
