BOOTHBAY HARBOR, Maine (AP) - Maine’s maritime history is being celebrated with the Windjammer Days festival.

The weeklong festival gets under way this week with one of the highlights being a parade of sail Wednesday featuring seven windjammers in Boothbay Harbor.

Before it wraps up Saturday, there will be a tug-a-war contest across the harbor, a lobster-eating contest and an oyster-shucking contest.

Besides the windjammers, the festival features an antique boats parade, music, arts and crafts, fireworks, food and excursions. There also will be a mock British invasion and pirates.
