NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say fire crews responded when an engine started sparking on a plane preparing to take off from Newark Liberty International Airport.

WABC-TV reports (https://7ny.tv/1K6j6NP ) the pilot noticed sparks coming from an engine as the United flight was preparing to take off for Savannah, Georgia, on Sunday night.

Port Authority officials say the plane was towed back to the terminal. Buses picked up the 41 passengers.

No injuries were reported.
