SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) - A neighbor has filed a $2.2 million defamation lawsuit against a Long Island judge.

Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/1GuBith ) says Anthony Gugliotta sued Southampton Justice Barbara Wilson, claiming Wilson defamed him during an April public hearing.

Wilson attended the hearing to discuss her application to build an exterior staircase on her home, which Gugliotta objected to.

The lawsuit says that in a statement, “not relevant to the proceedings,” Wilson referred to Gugliotta by saying she’s upset when people bring up her daughter, “especially when grown men want to look at little girls.”

Gugliotta’s attorney, Anton Borovina, says the statements were calculated to make Gugliotta look like a pedophile.

Wilson’s attorney, Brian Lester, declined to comment.
