SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - San Jose police say a homeless man who climbed to the top of a 90-foot industrial crane near City Hall and stayed there for 14 hours has come down.

Police say 39-year-old Alam Skandar, a homeless man, was arrested for trespassing and booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

KNTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1LfALSp ) that the man climbed into the crane Sunday night and shouted messages about his plight with homelessness. He came down without injury Monday morning.

The San Jose Fire Department sent medical personnel to the scene in case the man fell or jumped. San Jose Police officers successfully persuaded him to come down from the crane. The man forced about 100 construction workers to stop work on a private apartment complex.
