RENO, Nev. (AP) - State troopers had to evacuate the Nevada Highway Patrol office in Reno because of concerns about potentially toxic fumes.

Trooper David Gibson says their Reno office was evacuated and closed Monday morning after an electronic malfunction resulted in gases emitting from server batteries.

He said it will remain closed until further notice, with no estimate of when that might be.

The Nevada Department of Public Safety Dispatch Center is continuing to field 911 emergency calls and can be reached at 775-687-0400.

In the meantime, Gibson says anyone who needs in-person services can visit the NHP office in Carson City or call that location inside the Carson City Sheriff’s Office on East Musser Street at 775-684-7381.
