DANVILLE, Va. (AP) - Officials say even though the Schoolfield Mill hasn’t found a tenant yet, there has been some activity at the site.

The Danville Register & Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1GuGuNK ) Linwood Wright, the city’s economic development department spokesman, says the office building is undergoing some repairs.

Wright says the iconic trio of smokestacks are in good shape, despite some visible signs of some cracking and lost bricks around an opening into one of the smokestacks.

Officials say the smokestacks don’t require a lot of maintenance, especially since they are not in use.

Director of inspections for the city Jerry Rigney says he has not received any calls about any issues with the smokestacks.

Wright says the smokestacks will continue to be inspected by structural engineers, and have repairs made when recommended.
