SHOW LOW, Ariz. (AP) - An eastern Arizona man is facing arson charges after police say he started nearly two dozen fires while high on methamphetamine.

Navajo County Chief Deputy James Molesa says Sammy Williams was arrested Saturday in the community of White Mountain Lakes Estates north of Show Low.

Molesa says the small fires were set in wood piles and near houses in a 2-mile path that started at Williams’ home. Molesa says Williams had been under the influence of meth for days.

Firefighters were able to contain the fires without significant damage.

Molesa says Williams also faces charges of assault after resisting arrest. Williams was booked into the Navajo County Jail after receiving medical treatment.
