SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) - A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing a man who was riding bicycles with the suspect’s estranged wife at Luther George Park in Springdale.

According to a news release from police, the suspect was arrested Sunday and faces first-degree battery charges. Police say the suspect stabbed a 38-year-old man three times in the lower back. After a bystander separated the two, the victim and the woman left.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1BG51nF ) reports police began their investigation of the incident when they were called to the emergency room at Northwest Medical Center where the victim was being treated. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
