ATLANTA (AP) - A dog adoption group has arrived in Atlanta with more than a dozen golden retrievers rescued from the streets of Turkey.

Multiple news outlets report Adopt-a-Golden Atlanta flew in to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Sunday night with 15 dogs.

This is the second group of dogs the charity has relocated from Turkey this year. The group also brought 36 golden retrievers to Atlanta on Mother’s Day weekend.

These dogs are younger and all of them are under 2 years old.

The dogs were taken straight to their foster homes and will get a check-up by veterinarians Monday morning. The group says they will be available for adoption a short time after that.
