MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) - Central Oklahoma authorities are searching for whoever stole almost $10,000 worth of city animal equipment.

Midwest City Police Department Maj. Robert Cornelison says thieves cut through a fence at the city’s Animal Welfare Center on Saturday and broke into a municipal garage. He says the stolen equipment includes a generator, lawn mower and a trailer used to rescue horses and cattle.

Cornelison says the welfare center bought the trailer with $4,000 raised in public donations.

No arrests have been reported.
