CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia Division of Natural Resources law enforcement officers will be stepping up boating patrols this week as part of a nationwide education and enforcement program.

Operation Dry Water will begin Friday and run through Sunday.

The DNR says officers will look for boaters under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The agency also plans to educate recreational boaters about the dangers of operating a boat while impaired.
