COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana couple is giving away a custom-built log cabin in an essay contest designed to focus on the positive in life.

Tim and Deanna Railing tell WISH-TV (https://bit.ly/1dcdYt5 ) they decided to give away their Columbus home to the winning contestant after hearing about a similar contest in Maine.

The Railings are charging $150 per entry and want 4,500 entries from people willing to write a 250-word essay themed “A Life Well Lived.” They’ll refund the entry fees if they don’t get enough participants.

The house is valued at $675,000. It features 6,200 square feet and an indoor pool on about 5 acres.

The deadline for entries is Nov. 16. An independent panel of judges will determine the winner.
