DALLAS (AP) - Dallas police are seeking a man accused of beating and strangling a woman and leaving her body in a burning car.

Manuel Rocha Jr. of Richardson faces a capital murder charge in the slaying early Saturday of 20-year-old Alexus Garcia of Fort Worth.

A warrant issued Monday night says investigators believe Garcia drove to a house in Richardson to meet a man. The warrant says she texted a friend and raised safety concerns before going into the man’s residence.

Dallas firefighters hours later responded to reports of a burning vehicle. A cellphone and a Texas identification card were found in the vehicle and traced to the 26-year-old Rocha. Investigators determined gasoline was used to start the blaze.

Investigators have not said why the victim went to the house.
