ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Rapides Parish sheriff’s deputies say a Woodworth man who helped a woman who’d run out of gas later found out that the woman allegedly had stolen and cashed several of his personal checks.

The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/1FyjAUY) 31-year-old Trista Nicole Goleman, of Elmer, was arrested on Monday and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center, where she remains.

Deputies say the victim had filed a complaint on June 15 with the sheriff’s office.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Goleman.
